The Goodwood: Final field for Saturday’s Group 1

The Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday has attracted a field of 17 runners. Among the contenders is trainer James Cummings, who has three entries, including the popular Kementari, as well as Zapateo and Kallos. Cummings tasted success in the race last year with Trekking.

The top weight for the premier sprint in South Australia is Front Page, while the defending champion Savatoxl will also be competing.

Two three-year-olds have been accepted for the race, including Lofty Strike from Julius Sandhu’s stable and Royal Merchant from the stables of Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. It has been 17 years since a three-year-old won The Goodwood, with Perfectly Ready being the last in 2006.
