Golden Slipper runner-up Cylinder has been crunched in betting to replicate the feats of his champion stablemate Anamoe in Saturday’s Group 1 Inglis Sires.
The Godolphin colt ran second in the $5 million sprint a fortnight ago at Rosehill and is the $2.20 favourite with TAB to go one better on Saturday.
He will look to follow in the footsteps of Anamoe, who notched-up his maiden Group 1 in the 2021 Inglis Sires after running second in the Golden Slipper behind Stay Inside.
TAB opened $2.80 final field for Cylinder on Tuesday and punters didn’t hesitate to launch into the colt.
Cylinder is now the clear $2.20 favourite ahead of Veight ($5.50), Brave Mead ($6.50) and the drifting Don Corleone ($7.50).
Meanwhile, Caulfield Cup second-favourite Queen Air has been well backed to record her third career win at Bendigo on Saturday.
The Lindsay Smith-trained filly trounced her older rivals at The Valley a fortnight ago, seeing her odds slashed to $15 for the staying feature.
The daughter of Toronado is already Group 1 placed after running third in the VRC Oaks and punters expect the rise to 2200m will only suit her on Saturday.
TAB have wound Queen Air into $2 after opening $2.60 on Wednesday.
Another noted firmer, a blackbooker of ours from two weeks ago, is Mynumerouno.
The Nick Ryan-trained sprinter was sensational resuming following an injury enforced layoff, charging through the line to narrowly miss Midwest.
Mynumerouno started firm in betting at $5 and gave a great sight first-up, extending strongly late to narrowly miss the heavily backed Midwest.
The run was against the pattern of the day and punters haven’t hesitated, backing him into $3.90 from $5.50.
